Banana Pudding

1 box Nilla Waffers
1 (3.4 oz) box French vanilla pudding mix
1 (3.4 oz) box banana cream pudding mix
4 cups cold milk
3-4 bananas
1 (8 oz)  tub cool whip

Line the bottom of an 8x8 or 9x9 pan with Nilla Wafers.  Reserve part of the cookies.  Slice the bananas over the cookies.   In a bowl mix both pudding mixes with the milk briefly.  If you mix it too long the pudding will be too thick to go down between the cookies.   Pour over the bananas and cookies.   Top with cool whip.  Crush the remaining cookies and sprinkle over the cool whip.

My husband Andy is getting ready to have surgery to remove a brain tumor on his brain stem.   While nervous & concerned we are putting our faith in God.  We know he will guide the surgeon's hands and watch over him & our family.   If you would like to read his blog it is at andytuttle77.wordpress.comwith all that being said here is his favorite meal he requested for this weekend.   I made him Banana Pudding.  Look for a follow up post with this recipe.  His cousin is making us dinner tonight that includes BBQ pork,  macaroni and cheese, green beans and potato salad. I hope you all have a great weekend.

I have a birthday coming up this week.   I saw this cake on Facebook & want to try it so my cousin is making it for me next weekend.  I saw it on a page called Success with Cyn. Click on the link below to go to the recipe on Facebook.

1 Tomato Basil Wrap
2-3 tbsp Ragu Tomato onion garlic spaghetti sauce
4 Farm Rich Italian Meatballs, cooked
2 tbsp mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp parmesan cheese
sprinkle of oregano & garlic salt (optional)

Heat the meatballs in sauce till warm.  Place the sandwich wrap on a plate.  layer 1/2 cheeses, oregano & garlic salt, meatballs with sauce and top with remaining cheeses.  Fold sandwich wrap over on all four sides like a burrito.  Toast on a griddle until hot and lightly toasted.

I saw this sauce package in the aisle with pasta sauce at Wal-Mart.  I decided to try it.  I actually used 2-12 oz pkgs of peeled & deveined shrimp.  although Christian and Caleb get theirs out before we add the sauce.  Quick cooking meal for a weeknight. get water on to boil for the pasta.  Salute shrimp till almost cooked through.  Pour over the package of sauce.  Follow the package directions.  serve over pasta with salad and g s relic bread.

Chopped Sunflower Crunch Kit

Chopped Sunflower Crunch Kit is bursting with your favorite farmhouse-inspired ingredients and flavors — crispy lettuces and veggies, crunchy roasted sunflower seeds and real Applewood-smoked bacon. Tossed with DOLE Sweet Onion & Citrus Dressing, it’s a sweet and savory delight for any meal.

I really like this chopped salad.  I don't eat mayo so this is s great side that can take the place of a salad and/or slaw.

Our family is working on losing weight and getting healthy.  We have made it a bad habits to pick up something quick to eat due to our busy schedules.  Often times those quick options are not healthy options.  I am working on getting together a menu for this week that includes healthy meal options for dinner that we can sit and eat together.  School will start in a couple of weeks so it's time to start getting back on schedule.  I would love some tips on how to eat better on a budget.  It seems like most healthier foods are more expensive.

My Mother-in-law's favorite type of cake is pound cake.  When we got together for her birthday last week I tried this recipe.  we used it for Strawberry Shortcake.  It turned out really good.  make sure you don't overflow your cake pans though.  I had a mess to clean up as I tried using one bundt pan and it overflowed.
